Come out and support your company by running in the Techie 5K/10K. This fundraiser for the TAG Education Collaborative is full of fun and excitement.
The 5th Annual Techie 5K/10K Run/Walk benefits the TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-Ed) which was formed to strengthen Georgia’s future workforce through educational initiatives that emphasize science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It is predicted that some 211,000 STEM-related jobs will need to be filled in Georgia by 2018 and TAG-Ed is dedicated to helping the state prepare for these jobs.
Since its founding, TAG-Ed has awarded $200,000 scholarships, recognized hundreds of students, teachers and schools; and placed over 340 high school interns with leading technology companies throughout the state. In 2013 TAG-Ed successfully lobbied Governor Nathan Deal to proclaim a statewide STEM Day and was instrumental in getting over 260,000 students and teachers involved in STEM activities across Georgia. The Annual Techie 5K/10K Run/Walk is just one of many events that help support these efforts.
