Coffee Connections Speaker Spotlight Series 8:30-9:30
Join us for a very special Speaker Spotlight at ASHRAE
Meet us on Friday, August 19th for Coffee Connections at the new gloabal headquarters of ASHRAE (180 Technology Parkway). You'll hear from Executive VP Jeff Littleton and can join a tour of this $20 million renovation project begun in January 2020. ASHRAE acquired the existing Peachtree Corners 1970's three-story office building and renovated it to create a zero-carbon footprint facility.
The building is a living showcase of what's possible through technology integration to increase efficiency, protect people and property, and enhance the occupant experience. “One could make the assertion that constructing a new net-zero-energy building from the ground up would have been much easier than renovating an existing building,” said 2021-22 ASHRAE Treasurer and Former Building Ad Hoc Committee Chair Ginger Scoggins P.E., Fellow ASHRAE, CEM, CxA. “We decided that ASHRAE could make the greatest impact by showing others how to renovate an existing building with net-zero-energy as the focus, using our own standards and guidelines. ASHRAE is making net-zero-energy the ‘new norm’ in sustainable design and construction."
In addition to showing their commitment to building occupant health and comfort, the new headquarters is enabling ASHRAE to provide industry-leading support and service to their global volunteers, and drive innovation that pushes their goal of sustainability forward. Even prior to covid, ASHRAE had already planned to provide 30% more outside air to the building than the required minimum ventilation rates.
Come see the various systems that support ASHRAE's technical standards and innovative product integrations which have provided a scalable and repeatable model for a net-zero energy building design. Meet Executive VP Jeff Littleton and learn about AHSRAE and their innovative commitment to sustainability.
