Our Region Looking Ahead
Kerry Armstrong, ARC Chairman
The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency for the 10-county metro Atlanta area including Gwinnett. ARC is dedicated to unifying the region's collective resources to prepare the metropolitan area for a prosperous future. It does so through professional planning initiatives, the provision of objective information and the involvement of the community in collaborative partnerships. Mr. Armstrong will address three key points:
- What exactly is ARC and what it Isn't
- Major Concerns, including increased truck traffic through the region
- Sense of what lies ahead
As a Senior Vice President with Pope & Land Enterprises, Mr. Armstrong is involved in the development, marketing, leasing, and management of commercial real estate investments. He joined Pope & Land in 2012.
Mr. Armstrong is also actively involved in numerous civic, educational, and charitable organizations. He has served on the Atlanta Regional Commission since 2008, currently serving his second term as the ARC Board Chairman. He previously served as Co-Chair of the Atlanta Regional Workforce Development Board. He is the Chairman of the North Fulton Community Improvement District, serves as Director and Past Chair of the Council for Quality Growth. He is a Director and Past Chair of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and is a Director for the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Armstrong also serves on the board of the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation.
Mr. Armstrong holds a bachelor?s degree from Purdue University.
