Event Description:
Join the Southwest Gwinnett Chamber for a Lunch and Learn at Curiosity Lab
Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners is a publicly funded living lab designed to provide a real-world test environment to advance next-generation intelligent mobility and smart city technology. The Lab provides the opportunity for startups and established companies to deploy and prove out developing technologies in a real-world testing environment with no roadblocks, joined by the next generation of intelligent mobility and smart city technology.
Peachtree Corners is one of the first smart cities in the U.S. to be powered by city-owned connected infrastructure and 5G. The Curiosity Lab includes a 5G connected city street of the future with a 3-mile track and test lane for AVs, an array of sensors and cameras, smart city infrastructure, and the latest in C-V2X technology - all completely connected to the public street that handles more than 9,000 cars daily. Additionally, the Lab includes a 25,000-square-foot Innovation Center that houses dedicated offices for participants, a design lab, a 50-seat classroom, event space, and free parking.
Come hear from Curiosity Lab CTO and Peachtree Corners Assistant City Manager Brandon Branham as he discusses how it began, where things are, and where they are going. We will also have the Business Development Manager from Bosch, Lewis Stallworth, discuss why they chose Curiosity Lab and Peachtree corners and the current projects they are testing at the Lab. After lunch, you will receive a tour of the facility, which is not open to the public, and can take a short ride on the autonomous vehicles, if available.
Space will be limited, so register early.
