Event Description:

Cyber security is everybody's business!

October is cyber security month and our Lunch & Learn this month will focus on how to protect your business in an increasingly hostile digital environment. Did you know that cyber criminals are focusing more and more on the businesses with fewer that 1500 employees because a) there's more of them and b) they are less likely to be budgeting a significant amount on security.

What would be the impact to your business if you couldn't access:

  • your outstanding orders and contracts,
  • your customer and prospect list,
  • your employee records, and
  • your financial records?

Many businesses would never entirely recover, but you can learn how to begin protecting your business against the rising number of attempts to sequester your data and steal your money. Our experts this month are CMIT Solutions' Missy and Burnell Pitcher, bringing a combined experience of over 40 years in data technology and strategic project and program management. They'll provide a view into the sketchy world of the Dark Web, how data is compromised and sold or held for ransom, and what you can do to protect both your personal and business information.

In this Lunch and Learn you will learn:

  • What exactly is the "Dark Web?"
  • Is any of my personal/business information available on the Dark Web?
  • What are the first steps in protecting my information beginning TODAY?
